Emergency Roof Repairs Needed At Blenheim Palace

It seems that, no matter how historic or important a building, it can still have issues with its roof. That’s certainly the case at Blenheim Palace, with the Oxford Mail recently revealing that the historic estate is currently undertaking emergency repairs to the roof of the structure.

The newspaper revealed that Blenheim Palace was awarded a grant from the government’s Culture Recovery Fund that has allowed the much-needed work to go ahead.

Repairing leadwork is the main work being undertaken at present, the publication added, with a specialist lead conservation firm being called in. They are also carrying out gutter repairs.

Speaking to the newspaper, Roger File, chief operating officer at Blenheim Palace, said that the estate is very grateful to receive the money from the government to help repair the building.

“While the palace and wider estate remain closed to visitors, the need to carry out essential conservation and restoration work is ongoing. Grants like this enable us to maintain the fabric of this iconic and historic building and protect its priceless interior.”

Even if your home doesn’t contain priceless heirlooms like Blenheim Palace, that doesn’t mean you don’t want to protect your belongings.

As we recently pointed out, winter is often the season when homeowners realise that they have an issue with their roof and that they need the assistance of roofers to make the necessary repairs.

Of course, the winter weather can cause its own problems with your roof, or highlight any existing issues you were unaware of. In this instance, it’s essential that you get professional help to repair any damage as soon as possible to prevent the problems from getting worse.
